HunioUnoMedia respects your privacy. This Privacy Notice explains what personal information we collect through the HunioUnoMedia website and Stanley’s Story Club, why we use it, how it is handled, and the choices and rights that may be available to you.

This notice is written around the services HunioUnoMedia currently provides. We do not describe data practices that we do not currently use.

1. Who We Are

HunioUnoMedia operates the HunioUnoMedia website and Stanley’s Story Club, an optional email club for parents, families, and grown-up readers who want to receive Stanley-related stories, creative activities, book news, and HunioUnoMedia updates.

2. What Information We Collect

Information You Provide

When you voluntarily join Stanley’s Story Club, we collect your email address so that we can add you to the Story Club mailing list and send the emails you requested.

You may also provide personal information if you contact us directly by email or otherwise communicate with HunioUnoMedia.

Please avoid sending sensitive personal information through the Story Club signup form or by email unless it is necessary for your request.

Information Handled Through Our Services

Our website uses third-party services to operate certain functions. Depending on the service and its configuration, these providers may process technical, operational, delivery, or engagement information associated with website or email activity.

For example, our Story Club email service is provided through Brevo.

We do not intentionally collect information such as your home address, telephone number, payment information, password, date of birth, or child’s name through the Story Club signup form.

3. How We Use Information

• Subscribe you to Stanley’s Story Club when you request to join.
• Send Stanley’s Story Club emails, book news, activities, and HunioUnoMedia updates.

We do not sell your email address.

For Stanley’s Story Club, the primary basis is your voluntary request to receive the emails and, where required, your consent to receive them.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawfully carried out before the withdrawal.

5. How the Story Club Signup Works

When you submit your email address through the Stanley’s Story Club signup form:

1. The website sends the submission to a secure server-side function.
2. The submission undergoes basic validation and checks intended to help identify invalid or unsuitable email domains.
3. The email address is sent securely to Brevo, our email service provider.
4. The address is added to the Stanley’s Story Club mailing list.
5. You may then receive the Story Club welcome email and future emails associated with the club.

Our Brevo API credential is kept on the server and is not placed in the public website code.

The Story Club currently uses direct subscription rather than a separate double-confirmation email.

6. Service Providers and Disclosure

HunioUnoMedia uses selected third-party service providers to operate parts of the website and Story Club.

These currently include:

• Netlify — website hosting and server-side website functions.
• Brevo — email subscription, delivery, and related email-service functions.
• Google DNS-over-HTTPS — used by our server-side signup process for email-domain-related checks.

We may disclose personal information to service providers when reasonably necessary for them to provide services to us.

We may also disclose information where required by law, legal process, or a lawful request, or where necessary to protect the rights, security, or property of HunioUnoMedia, our users, or others.

We do not sell personal information.

7. Third-Party Websites, Links, and Embedded Content

Our website may contain links to or embedded content from third-party services, including platforms such as:

• YouTube
• Amazon
• Kobo
• Facebook
• Instagram
• TikTok
• Pinterest

When you interact with a third-party service, that service may collect information according to its own privacy practices.

HunioUnoMedia does not control the privacy practices, security, or content of third-party websites and services.

Our YouTube content may use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed domain. Even so, interactions with YouTube remain subject to Google’s applicable policies and technology.

8. Cookies and Similar Technologies

HunioUnoMedia does not currently operate its own advertising program or intentionally use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or Meta Pixel on the website.

The website does not currently require a user account.

However, third-party services used to host, operate, display, or provide functionality for the website may use cookies, local storage, pixels, or similar technologies as part of their own services.

Third-party email services may also use technologies associated with email delivery and engagement, depending on the service configuration.

These technologies are controlled in whole or in part by the relevant third-party provider and may be subject to that provider’s privacy practices.

9. How Long We Keep Information

We generally keep your Story Club email address while you remain subscribed to the Story Club.

If you leave the Story Club, we stop using your email address for future Story Club marketing emails.

We may retain limited information relating to your subscription status or request to stop receiving emails when reasonably necessary to honor your request, prevent unwanted re-subscription, resolve disputes, maintain required records, or comply with legal obligations.

Our service providers, including Brevo, may retain certain service-related records according to their own policies, contractual requirements, system settings, and applicable law.

10. International Processing

HunioUnoMedia operates from the Philippines.

If you access our website or join Stanley’s Story Club from another country, your personal information may be processed in the Philippines or in other countries where our service providers operate.

Our service providers may use infrastructure located in different countries. Where applicable, we seek to use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information as required by applicable privacy laws.

The privacy laws of the country where you live may provide you with rights that differ from those available under Philippine law.

11. Children and Young Readers

HunioUnoMedia creates stories and activities for young readers.

Stanley’s Story Club is intended for parents, families, and grown-up readers who want to receive Stanley-related stories, activities, book news, and HunioUnoMedia updates.

Our Story Club signup form does not ask for a child’s name, age, school, home address, or other personal information about a child.

We do not knowingly request personal information directly from children through the Story Club signup form.

If we become aware that we have collected personal information directly from a child in circumstances where applicable children’s privacy laws require additional protections, we will take appropriate steps. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, these steps may include obtaining required parental or guardian consent and deleting the information when required.

We do not currently use Story Club signup information to make high-impact automated decisions about you.

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

For example, the Brevo API credential used by our website is kept server-side rather than being exposed in the public website code.

However, no method of transmitting or storing information online can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

We may update this Privacy Notice when our services, data practices, service providers, or applicable privacy requirements change.

When we make changes, we will update the Last updated date shown at the beginning of this notice.
